let me make this clear: I HATE ROGERS
they now have a 60 gigabyte limit on downloads while over-charging every ISP around.
rogers and bell have monopolies in canada. we need help mr. harper.
i am going to give my business to TEKSAVVY.com
check it out?
and no i dont work for them
i just HATE ROGERS !!!!!!!
Yeah, Rogers really blows but they are still head and shoulders above Bell. Bell has both shit service and customer service!
Rogers cell phones go over $300 per month (with all those “cost savings” additions. Then tack on the home phone, and internet et voila = $$$$
I tried the Extreme Plus Service, I left it because I was receiving 8-11 mbps download. They said that the connection was perfect that it must be “THE INTERNET” in general for the poor speeds. Of course the INTERNET isn’t responsible for the results fro their very own speed tests. The funny things was that I was getting better speeds from the Extreme Service over the Extreme Plus service. Needless to say I switched back to the Extreme due to performance and the fact that I was going to be billed for over usage.
OVERUSAGE? Then why offer the Extreme Plus?? If you don’t want people to go fast then don’t offer it. No matter how they spin it they are light years away from Asia and making less money to boot. Why don’t they follow their lead?
What we need is some stiff competition to put them all in check.
BTW - I have been calling Rogers 1-2 per month pertaining to some issue or another in respect to billing. I have been doing this for over a year and have saved hundreds of dollars in overbilling.
Watch those cell phone bills!
I’ve had file-sharing problems for a while now and always blamed my router, but now I realize what’s really been going on. What’s worse is that my VPN for work is negatively affected. Our IT staff at work has told me that many of our other employees are also complaining about their VPN connection through Rogers. I’m amazed that they would throttle something that adversely affects VPN connections. I’ve been having VoIP issues recently as well and I do wonder sometimes if Roger’s practices are the cause of that, too. I am currently looking for a new provider and when I select one (in the next few weeks), I will cancel my Rogers. I’ve been with Rogers Internet since the VERY FIRST WEEK that they rolled out Hi-Speed Internet in Toronto (somewhere between 10 and 12 years ago–I can’t remember exactly when it was)…. and now…. bye bye!
Well after a very unhelpful conversation with a rep from the billing department at Rogers, I requested to speak to their supervisor. I was told that they would take my number and call me back in 24 to 48 hours. 2 DAYS!. She claimed it was because they were having technical problems. I have decided that I will be leaving them in a month or two, however I will not be leaving without making them lose some money. Disconnecting a wire or perhaps removing a chip or two inside the modem and then calling to get it replaced comes to mind. I have only been with Rogers since October and I am losing my patience with their lack of care for customers and their complete and utterly useless services. I regret leaving my 3meg DSL which was cheaper and was unlimited. Sure it was slower, but at least it worked properly and they didn’t tell me how I can use the internet. My next complaint to them is how their popup notifications on web pages interfeers with my browsing experience. I will be dropping not only my internet account, but cell phone as well, and I will also be returning my video rental membership card as well!
bye bye Rogers canceling my service next month because of the limit on the bandwith Teksavvy or Acananc is way to go. heard lot’s of good things about both companies
Hey wk,
If you go ExpressVu, you should be able to use all of your existing household wiring. Simply purchase the splitters from Bell, and install them at the Rogers demarcation point. All of rogers existing wiring should be sufficient for ExpressVu as well. In fact, I currently use the Rogers demarcation point for my household, and it works great. I didn’t even have to drill any holes in my house. Just disconnected the Rogers cable, and connected the Bell cable coming from the dish.

I pay about $100 for internet $65 for home phone 125 for cable TV and 165 for my cellphone and all of my services are crap! the only thing that sux is that rogers is the only ISP in my area. i have a 2 year contract on my cellphone and if i want to sign up with expressview I have to run new cables to all my TV’s.
My internet has not been working to full capacity for over 6 months. I am supposed to be getting 18 MBPS and i am getting between 500KBPS to 1.5 MBPS.
Every time i call in it take me 20 minutes to get an agent. Finally when i get an agent they blame the slow speeds on my router and give me all these excuses, after 20 minutes i speak to a supervisor. they finally send a tech over who then puts in an order for a new line. they havfe done this about 3-4 times and everytime the line somehow gets damaged.
pretty soon im just going to get so pissed of that im going to end up smashing the cable box for my area. that should get there attention! lol
Im Freakin tired of there crap but im stuck with them until another ISP is available in my area.
Not that there are options (ugh, Bell), but I cancelled mine. Just after I got this email: http://iqdupont.com/blog/?page_id=19
I have been useing the internet since it was new and I must observe that in all things through out history, there seems to be an inept need for those with power to have more. Power = Control!
I sincerely believe that if Rodgers needs to put controls on thier bandwidth the customers should be made aware in full. BEFORE THE CONTRACT IS SIGNED. Furthermore, I also feel that if they have a need to shape thier service, it should be to benifit me, (THE PAYING CUSTOMER.) If they are haveing a problem providing what the customers need/want, perhaps they should spend a little of my/your hard earned cash on some equipment or upgrades, or something!! Im Switching to shaw as I have used it before (Torrents etc) and have seen speeds in execess of 800 KB/S.
In the end, if you can’t, (as a buisness), provide what people want, they’ll go elsewhere. The real crime is in that they will still make oodles off of those locked in to shitty contracts. (SHAME SHAME)
Hi James,
Take a look at http://www.canadianisp.com - they have a good and fairly comprehensive list of alternate ISPs. In my experience, smaller is better when it comes to ISPs. The big ones are typicaly CS nightmares with spotty service, but the smaller ones tend to get better customer reviews.
I switched six of my clients away from Rogers and I decided not to setup Rogers for any new clients. I am beginning to see similar issues with Sympatico, so please list any alternatives here so we can ditch these greedy bastards!
Three years ago while living in Ottawa, my family was “Rogers Everything”, that being phone, digital cable, high speed internet and wireless. We moved out of province for two years and returned this summer. Primarily due to Roger’s policies, for example regarding cancellation fees and limitation of bandwidth, I decided enough was enough. All we have left in the house is the wireless phones, of which the contracts will expire in six months. After that, they’ll be gone as well (actually prior to, because I don’t mind paying a bit to get out from under Rogers’ thumb). I intend obviously to use phone, internet, cable and wireless services for many, many years to come. None of these services will EVER come under the terms and conditions of Rogers Inc again.
I canceled Rogers Internet a long time ago. As soon as I found out (from my boyfriend) that it was Rogers crippling trafic on their own lines.
I was sent a notice telling me I had to pay $5 extra per month for “bandwidth”. Then another came a few months after that letting me know that yet another $5 would be added to my bill each month. Then I noticed everything crawling to a hault on my computer. Thanks to my boyfriend and the good investigative geek that he is, he figured it out, and we both switch from Rogers. I haven’t had a problems since, and our bills don’t keep going up every few months for a service we’re not getting to begin with
Screw rogers.
i am new to bt and couldnt understand why my connection was dropping in the past month. i have been with them since day one and i am sick of their crap.
what are my other options ?
I canceled my Rogers internet service about 2 months ago. The rep who took my cancellation call asked why I was canceling and I told her it was because of their traffic shaping, specifically regarding torrents. I have switched to Bell. My connection speed is significantly slower, but my torrent speeds are now significantly higher, especially uploads which went from zero to about 60kb/s. Though I’m not entirely happy with my speeds, I am much happier than I was with Rogers. As a side note, out of spite, I also canceled my Rogers Home Phone.
Rogers takes your money, but so do all the other companies. Stop all that ‘grass is greener on the other side’ thinking, because you’ll go with another provider and feel the same way in a year.
All companies have issues…Bell cell phone reception blows, and I’ve heard friends who have issues with other competitors.
I have the luxury of knowing a rogers employee who hooked me up on a corporate account, so the customer service reps I speak with are all better trained, more capable, and throw freebies out whenever problems arise.
I pay approx $250 after-tax per month for:
2 cell phones with almost every feature including lots of talk time and even/weekends free
cable with all the movie network channels, leafs tv, documentary, animal, etc
home phone with all the options, voicemail, etc
high-speed (not lite/extra lite, but not the best one either)
I think that’s pretty reasonable for $250/month…I’m bundled into the package which makes my ass feel sore, but I still think its reasonable.
Sometimes the internet connection is shit, but again, I can’t think of another company that never has issues.
Cheerio.
After several price hikes, I decided to give Rogers the boot back in March and switched to DSL service from the Ottawa Capital Freenet (a non-profit ISP) and I couldn’t be happier. I’m getting television over the air (including CBC in high definition, which I didn’t get on basic cable). You can read about my experience on my blog:
http://www.irrational.net/node/9
I am so ridiculously sick of Rogers and their utter bull shit! I’ve been a subscriber of their broadband since the days it was owned by Shaw. Lying to their customers seems to be standard practice with these guys and I’m not just talking about bit shaping here.
Torrents aside, I can’t even reliably connect to my office’s VPN either which severely hinders my work! I’m moving soon and I’m definitely looking for another ISP. Rogers, you’ve lost another long term customer.
I am cancelling my service as well. Net neutrality is a big deal.
Rogers has pissed me off for a while now with this traffic shaping business but there is more.
They stopped giving me newsgroup access last December and they are now cancelling my online photo storage and briefcase.
Enough.
I will get a Tivo and change my phone to Bell and switch ISP, I have already moved my Blackberry.
I guess there are other options. Anyone know if I can get cable in Ottawa from anyone else. Satellite does not work well with Tivo.
I will be cancelling ALL my Rogers services this month. I am fed up of their incompetent support team, their disregard for net neutrality and their overpriced/false advertised services. For anyone considering Rogers … turn the other way !
Cancelled my ROBBERS account. For all the same reasons as stated here. Filthy little company. They are so stupid, they are more interested in being ignorant than they are in recieving money I guess. When I cancelled I had already had Bell’s dsl for 2 weeks and had conducted several test to compare the 2 services. Rogers is a JOKE…BYE BYE. When I called to cancel( after being with them since the start of their service they gladly accepted my cancellation but at the end she say;s to me “You know Rogers is going to an eighteen Meg download soon, don’t you want those speeds. Well I LOST it!!!!!!!! Told the stupid wench off and reminded her that they are not delivering the speeds as promissed now,you traffic shape-wich IS ILLEGAL!And the lies that come from you twits baffle people who actualy have brains. You can’t deliver any consistancy and it’s no longer a matter of speed but a matter of DISGUST! And You idiots can’t get it working right now , then how are you going to make it 3 times faster later???
By the way they are going to use the Motorolla 501’s that are being used now to their new 18 meg service LOL,LOL,LOL,LOL,LOL.—CLICK.
I am canceled my subscription of internet services and phone with Rogers for false advertising. My uploads speeds were almost zero and seeding torrents was impossible…All of my friends are doing the same thing. Anytime I’m speaking to someone about ISP Rogers will be on my black list….Congrats…
Jason from Toronto:
commonly virus’ hijack an internet connection and eat up bandwidth by constantly download/uploading. that was most likely the reasoning behind their excuse.
This internet traffic shaping thing is incredible… Do we live in China or something? Geez. I think they are just overselling their bandwith to look competitive, but my guess is, if everyone was using their monthly allowed bandwith, they wont be able to keep up.
SHAME ON YOU ROGERS!!!
BOYCOTT EVERYTHING ROGER:
CELL PHONE
INTERNET
TELEVISION
VIDEO STORE
ETC…
I’m an existing Rogers high speed customer as well as cable. But the only reason I am on them is because that’s all my building has.
My main beef with Rogers though is their g’damn ANNOYING commercials which are on almost all of the time. Thanks to Rogers and that stupid commercial with the egg and 2 assholes coming out of it (radio ad), I officially HATE the song Born to be Wild. The Rogers home phone commercials are also incredibly annoying, especially the one with the loser who talks about how his sisters helped him to get a girlfriend (thanks to the help of his trusty Rogers home phone so he could talk for free with them).
Thanks to Rogers commercials, I am more than ever determined to not purchase any new services or to recommend this company to anyone. I am sick of their jingle at the end of every commercial, and I am plain sick and tired of watching the egg commercial and ching ching Rogers phone guy 20 times a f’g day.
Geiko advertises aggressively, but not as much as Rogers. And at least Geiko’s commercials are real funny. Rogers TV commercials are the stupidest and most annoying I have EVER seen. And because I have no choice but to be on Rogers cable, I am subjected to this shit all day long.
That’s all. Thank you.
I used to be a Rogers hi-speed user. For about 5 years I was a fairly happy customer (having outages rarely). In 2005, they sent me a letter advising me that I had a 60GB per month limit of bandwidth usage. This was just before Rogers introduced the traffic shaping they are now so (in)famous for. Let me also point out that I do tech support for an American hi-speed DSL company (yes, here in Canada). It’s often the case that 3rd party tech support companies will have contracts to support a technical company’s product. I don’t know if it’s the case with Rogers, though.
One thing I noticed in my job is that our cancellations department (known as retention because their job is to retain the customer so as not to lose money) would bend over backwards to keep the customer by sending free modems, ethernet adapters and such.
I decided I would threaten to cancel my Rogers service based on the bandwidth usage limitation ( I was month to month and under no contract). To my surprise, the Roger’s cancellation agent quickly cancelled my account while advising me that I shouldn’t use more than 60GB per month! I guess they didn’t want my money too much.
I have since been on Sympatico DSL and am very happy with it and have had no outages in 2 years now, which is more reliable than Rogers ever was.
I have friends who are suffering through the traffic shaping and I encourage all of them to switch to DSL.
I am cancelling my service as soon as I sign up with another provider. Haven’t decided yet which other provider to go with. I’m tired of their shaping/throttling practices. Also, for some reason I was getting some good download speeds for a few days with Azureus, and they called me and said they were suspending my service because I had a virus! What the…??? I get good download speeds so they want to stop my service? Virus? Nice try… I’m running OS X with anti-virus and firewall. I know my system is clean. It’s just an excuse to stop me from getting actually decent download speeds. Buhbye Robbers!
Today I finally cancelled my Rogers Internet service. But that’s not all… (read on)
I was disgusted when Rogers took the step of traffic shaping bittorrent, but when Azureus and other clients started to offer encryption I thought “that will teach Rogers - they’ve wasted millions on appliances that are useless”. How wrong I was! I could not believe it when a few short months later not only did bittorrent screech to a halt, but now my VPN connection to and from work was unbearably slow (read unusable). That was the final straw… I decided to vote with my wallet and cancel my Internet service.
The Rogers rep who answered my call asked me why I was cancelling, and I calmly explained that I do not agree with their practice of bandwith throttling or traffic shaping. He did not deny the fact, he explained to me that “bittorrent and that type of traffic use too much bandwidth and cause problems at our hubs. If you were cancelling for any other reason I could offer you a discount, but there’s nothing I can do for you…” I didn’t want to get into an argument with him nor waste my time, but I responded that a) I signed up for an unlimited (”Extreme”) Internet connection and expected such, not a crippled service, and b) what they are doing can be considered a net neutrality issue which I feel very strongly about. He then proceeded to tell me that I was wasting my time switching because Bell and all other major ISPs engage in the same traffic shaping process. Well, I checked with Bell and I also checked with Primus, my new ISP, and I can assure you that they do no such thing - any my VPN and bittorrent are now working properly.
I had been a faithful Rogers client for more than 5 years, a “VIP” with over $200 a month in services. Because of this policy decision by Rogers, I am migrating ALL of my services to other providers. That’s $2400 / year… the biggest F-U I can possibly give Rogers for their bad bad policy. If you have services with Rogers I strongly suggest you do the same - hit them with the only vote, the only voice they will hear - your money’s.
Like everyone here I canceled about a year ago. I was a rogers customer for 7+ yrs. One night I was using bitorrent to download a fedora distro and before I knew it it was literally crawling. It was actually faster for me to download it via HTTP than using bitorrent…. so I tried various other things and noticed that the only thing fast was HTTP. I called their support it was like talking to a dear in headlights. I did some researching online and low and behold found out the packet shaping bit and how to avoid by using their VOIP port. I tried it out cuz I couldn’t believe a ISP which i was paying good money to would restrict my traffic. And low and behold it was just that. I called their support again showing them proof and going to 2nd level but they were clueless. So I just did what everyone else here did. Switched to sympatico and have not regretted it.
I get a call once in awhile from rogers asking me to use their home phone service to which I point out I don’t have Rogers internet and the poor person actually tries to sell me that to which I just shred and almost make them cry.
I’ve been thinking about switching to Aliant for a long time, mostly due to the fact that Rogers advertises 7mb/sec download/upload rate for their Express internet (which I currently use) and then LIMIT your downloads/uploads in the area of torrents. I now never use more then 6 or 7 percent of my bandwidth.
They’re also completely unmoving on the idea of changing this policy to allow exceptions on individual request basis.
Not to mention the infrequent (but often lengthy and annoying) downtime that Rogers has from time to time.
Aliant is looking so much better right now.
I’ve been with Rogers for some time now I have all my services through them and when I first signed up i didn’t have any problems at all until they started running thier stupid traffic shapers… Now, I can’t get any speeds at all on anything, I play poker online quite a bit and it interfers with the encryption of the sites i play at among other things including my phone that just seems to go dead and i believe its the traffic shapers they use. It takes 2-3 minutes just to bring up the google home page.. and i pay for the extreme service, the service is a complete joke…LOL…. As far as i’m concerned now they are nothing but legal crooks filtering the cash from my pocket for services that they obviously can’t provide or refuse to provide. I pay damn good money for these services that I don’t get and if I cancel i get a cancellation fee…So here to you Rogers: As soon as my contract is up you crooks can go F__K yourselves, I’m Cancelling all of my services when my contract is up. there shouldn’t even be a contract, thats just another way to be a crook and steal your customers hard earned bucks from them, It’s the corporate way as far as i’m concerned, offer you everything and give you nothing for it. You should be taken to court and sued by all your customers for breach of contract or failed services offered to people which you can’t provide. PS.. Your cable stinks too….LOL
I just sent the following to Rogers. Hopefully it will draw some attention to the issue.
As I am sure you are aware, you provide the worst possible customer service possible. For years now, I have been a paying Roger’s customer. I currently have all my services through Rogers, and I would have continued to keep all of my services with Rogers for quite some time. Recently, you have decided to try to tell me and all your other customers how we “allowed” to use your internet service. I am paying nearly $60 each month for the use of your Extreme internet service, and now you are crippling it with all encrypted traffic.
To me this would indicate that you have overpromised the amount of bandwidth available to all users, and now that bittorrent technology is becoming very popular, your network apparently can’t handle the load. If you do not ave the capacity to provide the internet speeds THAT I PAID FOR, you should drastically reduce the price and change your advertising to reflect your poor service. People don’t purchase an Extreme Intenet service so they can get Windows updates 2 minutes quicker. They purchase this type of connection for doing large file transfers in a short amount of time. That should be common sense.
The only reason that I still have any of my services through Rogers is because Aliant currently does not offer high speed internet in my area. The very instant that Aliant has service in my area, I will be switching all of my Roger’s services to them. That would include, Cable, Internet, Wireless, Home Phone. That is $250 / month you will no longer be getting from me. It won;t just be me though, as all your affected customers will be doing the same. In case you have not noticed, a website called boycottrogers.com has been created. All of the customers that have been treated unfairly by you are coming together, and as much as you think your network will be better without us, you will eventually have to see how much us leaving will actually hurt you. You are very lucky to be a Canadian company because if this were the USA, we would easily have a class action lawsuit and run your company into the ground….even though you are well on your way to doing that yourselves.
I canceled my Rogers Home phone in march 2007. Now I am canceling “Slow speed Extreme Shit Internet” in July 2007 because my bundle plan expires. F..K Rogers
Rogers cancelled my account! They didn’t even give me a reason, they just sent me a final bill!
When I switched the account over into my name, they never sent me a bill because they couldn’t “find my address” as I was told. But I did get their cell phone adverts and that final bill… I wanted to add them as an online bill, so I called them to figure out what they were listed as (because there were several Rogers options). I got transfered to billing, but received a message that the department was closed (at 2pm on a Friday afternoon!)
Every month, I trekked out to Rogers Video to pay the bill (I bus and the nearest Rogers is 20 minutes away). I had to ask how much it was, of course, because my bill was never available online!
Did I pay my bill late? Some months, but never more than a few days. My bill finally became avaliable online in January (8 months later), but most of the time, it wouldn’t accept my Visa number. So back out to Roger’s Video I went…
I’ve never had so many problems doing something as simple as paying a bill that I was more than willing to pay. Now I’m cancelled without reason nor warning.
It works out well because I’m leaving Ontario, but should I come back, I will never, EVER use Rogers again.
Planning to cancel, as my work VPN has been painfully slow, and I finally know why! I have been a longtime Rogers customer, but NO MORE. I haven’t decided who’s getting my high speed ISP dollars, but it’s probably Teksavvy or Sentex… Perhaps even Bell, who knows…. All I know is that I’m sick of slow torrents, and sick of poor VPN performance. Rogers, you need to change your ways!
Today I just canceled my Rogers Internet because they terminated my account saying that I’m spreading a virus. What the heck are they smoking? Rogers are bunch of crooks!
Mike, what did you say to get them to waive the cancellation fees?
I have canceled their services a year back as my bandwidth limit was only 60gb and I found out the hard way what bitorrent throttling really is! After so much calls finally their was a customer rep that didn’t ask any question why I want to cancel and just waved the cancellation fees.
I have cancelled my Rogers internet service. Ever since they made my change my modem as a “free valueable service”, promising that my speeds would increase and be more reliable, I have had nothing but slow speeds and unreliable connections. Back when it was @Home service, it was the fastest and best internet service I could get. Now it is by far, the worst service I am overcharged for. $50 a month FOR WHAT? For my email downloading and web surfing? That’s not why I pay for alot of bandwidth you jackasses. I pay ~50 a month so that I can use all the bandwidth that I pay for to use torrents to download ISOs of linux distro’s that I test. You refuse to be net neutral so I refuse to use your services. I know I wont be missed and I’m absolutely certain that YOU WON’T BE MISSED EITHER!
If anyone is looking for alternatives, go with smaller DSL providers like Teksavvy and Velcom. These are companies that need your business and are willing to actually help you to get it…
I’m canceling as soon as I can, switching to an ethical provider. The bittorrent throttling doesn’t bother me much since I only use it to download anime that’s not available here yet, but now my email’s crippled too because they slow down all encrypted traffic SEVERELY.
Why limit to just internet, wireless is just as horrible. Doesn’t matter if you have the ‘clearest network’ if it doesn’t work! I haven’t been able to receive text messages from people on other networks since the day I started with them, and have spent hours every night on the phone with clueless service reps for the past week, telling me I’m responsible for calling the OTHER networks to say I have a problem, having me buy new SIM cards, all of which have done nothing. I’m going to be cancelling soon if this goes on much longer.
Glade I haven’t had them for anything else and use Cogeco for internet and home phone.
after 2 years on extreme i cancelled yesterday and had teksavvy activated today
for about HALF of what rogers charges i now have unthrottled, uncapped dsl access
[editors note: some content removed. Please keep it civil
]!!!
Today I cancelled my Rogers Internet, Wireless and Digital Cable due to their traffic shaping practices. When Corporations try to control the internet we need to rise against! Fsck you Rogers.
It`s official as of yesterday i am happily no longer using ROGERS as my isp and will NEVER do buisness with them again. This includes Cell phone service and Cable TV.I switched to another isp provider and all seems well so far.It is real refreshing to call thier 1-800# and actually talk to a human being.Ever tried to call customer service with Rogers , all that automated crap. Cya Teddy!!!!
Ps getting between 350 and 550 kbps now on my downloads. HEHE!!!
Forgot to mention above that will cancel coz, i dont want Rogers to throttle my traffic. I am a bit torrent supporter, that why i am paying rogers for…. My Rogers..in your Ads please state that you offer so much speed but you also limit the traffic for bittorrent…. You may have screwed us for a yr contract…but will loose for the next 10 yrs …Finger to the one who took the decision to cap our bandwidth…
I live in a building and i dont have home phone service with Bell. Thats the only reason i am having internet with Rogers. The 1st opportunity i get to change ISP, I will be the first person to do so. I can say here that at work, i have at least 8 colleagues who are in the same situation like me…ie.. hate Rogers but waiting for the right oportunity to switch.

Canceled after being with them for over 8 years! The whole point of the internet is “free communication”…. You cannot put limits on the “type of communication”…. So farewell to you Robbers!
I ended my Rogers service - no longer will I subject myself to their control! Canceled because their traffic shaping was ruining my online experience.
Hey folks, whenever applicable, please clearly state whether you have canceled or will cancel, as well as a message to Rogers about why (bad service, slow speeds for certain programs, etc).
I’ve been with Rogers for a while, and now they’re starting to affect not only my downloads, but also my email access, secure website access, and anything else encrypted. Not even their techs can get it straight. Full details at http://jgoguen.net/archives/2007/04/29/my-experiences-with-rogers/ in case anyone’s interested.
My parents are moving in a month and they decided to switch to rogers. After hearing about the cap put on bittorents, I will convince my parents to either stick with sympatico highspeed or find a new ISP provider that doesn’t limit download speeds.
It seems that everytime we feel the need to go back to Rogers high speed, some new policy or horrible service kicks in. Since high speed first came out, we were loyal rogers clients but their horrible fiber optics infrastructure would fail at least once a month for days at a time. That’s why we switched with sympatico. Looks like were going to be sticking with them.
Just signed up with Rogers Home Phone and Internet. I’m going to cancel the first chance I get. Rogers, you suck.
I will be ending my service later this week , just in the final phases of setting up a new ISP . Limit my downloads will you? I think not!!!Here is a one finger salute to bid you and not so fond farewell!!!
